So Jeff had bought my body wash the other day while he ran to Walmart to get a few things to make dinner and he accidentally got the wrong one so I went to exchange it. I came out and went to start my car and it wouldn't start!! So I walked back in and went back to the tire&lube section and asked them if they would come jump my car so I could get it over to have it looked at. It took a bit for it to get jumped but the guy got it jumped and I pulled it over to the auto section. My battery was tested and it showed up that it was getting old and would need to be replaced by my next oil change so I went ahead and replaced it so it wouldn't die on me again.
What should have been an easy battery replacement turned out to have me stay for 5 hours getting this stupid car worked on. Even with the new battery they couldn't get the car to start. After 2 hours they magically got it to start just by accident when they moved the gear shifter at the same time they pushed the push-start button and it started. So then I was able to drive it down the highway to the Nissan dealership to get it checked out.
I get to the Nissan dealership and tell them what it was doing and they took it in to look at it. So they found out that it was a brake switch that needed to be replaced. I'm not totally for sure how to describe what it is other than how they dumbed it down for me "it's like on a manual car where you have to have it in park or neutral to turn it on. the switch that is the equivalent is just worn out" SO I got that that fixed too.
Not only did I have to replace the battery and the brake switch.. the car tech told me that I need to replace all 4 tires and that the rear right tire is "seperated" and wont last much longer and my brake pads are really worn too. But I had already shelled out $250 and didn't have the extra $850 to put out right this second because rent is due next week so I will just have to wait until next week.
At least tomorrow will be a good day since we get to see Oliver on the 3D ultrasound tomorrow! :) That makes up for all of the tears and stress from today!! Hopefully those will be posted tomorrow night if I have enough energy. If not, by Sunday at the latest!
I used to love my Nissan Altima SOOOO much.. but not right now!

Oliver's 26 week ultrasound
Well, today was the last day of summer for the kids that I'm a nanny for. They are excited to start back to school and so am I!! I was starting to get too big and tired to be working the full 11 hour days with the kids. This will be much better now that I will only be working 4 hour days until Oliver arrives. After tennis practice Brooke (the youngest child, 8 yrs old) came with me to Oliver's ultrasound. She was SO excited. Although it turned out to be more boring than she anticipated, she was happy that we got ice cream afterward.
So the details of the ultrasound that everyone wants to know.. Oliver is still a boy. The ultrasound tech and the doctor both agree that he definitely is a boy. The reason I'm not showing majorly yet appears to be that Oliver likes to curl up in a super teeny tiny tight ball and snuggle up by my right hip. He is still measuring 26 weeks and due on November 21st. They measured his head, chest, legs and arms but because he was in such a tight little ball they weren't able to measure from head to toe. All of the other measurements were right on with 25.5-26 weeks though so they are assuming he is approximately 14" long right now which is on track to be 19" at birth- assuming he is born at 40 weeks. To sum it all up as of now he's looking like the standard baby. So here is yet another profile pic.. not a lot has changed since the last ultrasound 3 weeks ago.
He was very stubborn during the ultrasound- he was asleep and would not cooperate! I even tried to drink a huge glass of orange juice before as some had suggested it would wake him up and get him moving. Apparently he needed some espresso or something and for me to stand on my head for an hour to get him moving!! So Brooke and I get back to the house after the ultrasound and I sit down on the couch and watch the kids while they're swimming in the pool and he starts going crazy and kicking my insides like there is NO tomorrow-- GO FIGURE!! Silly boy! Apparently he needed his nap!
Next weekend (the 28th) we are going back to Tulsa to have the 3d ultrasound and to hopefully see his cute little chubby cheeks! I'm hoping he learns to spread out a little more so that we can see his face a little better. If not at least we can say we tried!! Jeff is SO excited to hopefully see the 3d ultrasound and let me tell you- it is precious that he is so excited! :)
Oh and one last thing!! The last couple of days have been absolutely fabulous in the mornings. It seems like fall is already on it's way and that means so is Oliver! I'm just SO ready for the heat to go away!!! Pregnant people don't like heat!!

Jalapenos Mmmm
So I think by now everyone knows about my major craving I have had throughout this pregnancy- JALAPENOS!! It started out with salsa that was really spicy.. then Jeff and I went to McAlisters Deli one evening after work for dinner and I ordered a Spud Ole- if you've never been there it's just a giant potato with chili, shredded cheese and jalapenos. I have been back at least once a week for the last 3 months- usually twice. Anything spicy does the job but the Spud Ole is just simply delicious!
Everyone has warned me when I order something spicy that it will give me heartburn or indigestion but I haven't had any heartburn since the first trimester (and I think that was just what I had as a replacement for morning sickness.) I'm planning on eating them until I get heartburn and then I'm going to just quit eating them. Others have told me that eating a lot of jalapenos and other peppers will make Oliver have a lot of hair. Seeing as Jeff and I both had a lot of hair when we were born I don't see Oliver being born with a shiny bald head so either way it doesn't really matter. Hopefully we can see if he has hair on the 3d ultrasound at Anticipations on the 28th. I know it's not likely but I've seen it happen before!!
Looks like Jeff will be back at this time next week from his Army training he's been at since the 6th! I know it's not that long and 2 weeks is nothing compared to the whole year that he's about to leave for BUT he has been absolutely miserable at Camp Gruber because it's the hottest week we have had all year and they are making them do ridiculous drills and crap to fill up the time that they have to be there. Not to mention they have absolutely NO air conditioning. Funny enough that they will have it while deployed in Egypt but they don't have it in Oklahoma at a training camp- DUMB!
Oh and one last little tidbit of info- the kids I'm a nanny for start back to school this week so I will get a break of sorts now that they will be back in school. My 11 hour work days will go down to 4 hours and the stress level will go down- HALLELUJAH!!! Not that I dont love them but they were both getting antsy and completely worn out from this summer break. Luckily Thursday they will be back to school and get back on that schedule so that I can start packing up our place, moving, and starting to set up Oliver's room! Put your seatbelt on. There are a lot of changes that are about to happen!

Starting to get busier
Well Jeff has drill this weekend and then has his 2 weeks of training so I'm home alone and it's really boring. It just kicked in that we have so much to do in such a short period of time that it's ridiculous! Before he gets back I have 3 doctor appointments, need to get a storage unit so we can put our new washer and dryer in it and start packing up our house slowly, clean up the house thoroughly and try not to go crazy.
In other news.. At work today I walked past a mirror and flipped out. I all of the sudden have this huge baby bump. I made it up until just recently without showing much at all and now BAM! there is a huge bump! There is no denying that there is a baby in there. According to my baby iPhone app it says that Oliver is now 12-13" and almost 2 lbs. I have a 2D anatomy ultrasound on August 17th for my doctor to double check his length and to make sure he's developing properly so we will know how big he really is. And then I have a 3D ultrasound on August 28th to get the cute pictures so we can see his features and all of the cutesy pictures!

Oliver's crib bedding
So we definitely have a soccer or football player. This little boy has some extremely strong legs and feet! He kicks, kicks and kicks some more!! We had originally thought we were going to do a sports themed room since Jeff and I both are big on sports and it just fits a little boy perfectly. After thinking about it and looking at some of our options nothing seemed to work for what we were looking for and I definitely didn't want anything super cheesey like Mickey Mouse or Winnie the Pooh so I went on a mission to find something else. Talk about MISSION IMPOSSIBLE! Finding something that is modern, not super girly, and still able to mix and match with other things.. SO difficult but I think we have picked something that works perfectly!
Just a little explanation on the bedding before you scroll down to see it.. Obviously it met the criteria of being modern and all and then also it works because Jeff and I are both tall and expecting Oliver to be tall so giraffes are great! So the room will be decorated in large polka dots and giraffes! :) It sounds kind of weird to explain it that way so take a look for yourself! There are 2 pictures so that you can see more detail hopefully.
It is brown with the green, blue, orange and yellow polka dots. We are going with a dark brown ("espresso") crib and using mostly the green color. I'm probably going to end up mixing and matching parts of the crib set with other solid colors so that it doesn't look like I bought it as a set as much.. which might be a project in itself.
Anyway.. now that I have gabbed about Oliver's room.. time to make some dinner for Jeff before he gets home from work! :)
